Gumby vs. The Astrobots, développé par Torus Games et édité par Namco, est un jeu de plateforme sorti le 9 septembre 2005 sur Game Boy Advance. Le titre met en scène le héros Gumby parti secourir ses amis capturés par les Astrobots, en croisant des personnages de la série télévisée comme Pokey, Prickle et Goo. Le joueur exploite la capacité de Gumby à se déformer, s'étirer et se tordre pour progresser à travers des environnements variés tels que l'Ouest américain classique, le pôle Nord glacé ou la planète Astrobot.
Du côté des retours, la presse a salué le choix du genre d'arcade aventure en défilement latéral pour le personnage, tout en jugeant le ton parfois trop simpliste, et a relevé un gameplay amusant avec des visuels authentiques et colorés, bien que le titre souffre de certaines limites non précisées. Certains joueurs, à l'image d'un témoignage publié sur Metacritic, ont quant à eux décrit une histoire bien écrite et émotionnelle après y avoir joué longtemps après sa sortie.

« It is nice to see Gumby in a game, and while the side-scrolling arcade-adventure genre suits him, this game is a little too simplistic in tone to appeal to older players. However, with a number of adventures awaiting, and with pleasing graphical elements, this is a game that should leave younger Gumby fans entertained. »

« It may have taken me 12 years but I have finally finished Gumby vs. The Astrobots, the story is well written and highly emotional, as a 62 year old man I'm proud to admit that this is one of the few pieces of media to ever have me shed a tear, and not just the once, but the women and the children too. They're like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals. I HATE THEM. Do yourself a favor and buy this game now! But be quick, there's only one copy left on Amazon and trust me when I say this, you DO NOT want to miss out on playing this absolute masterpiece ****.
