Total Video Games 90/100

« One of the most controversial games for the Playstation has created a bigger, better, badder, and more f***ed up sequel. »

Absolute Playstation 87/100

« Don't expect a graphical treasure but the gameplay will take take some time to complete while raising a few smiles on the way. »

TotalGames.net 84/100

« Bangin' drum and bass kicks out of the stolen sports cars super woofers as you prowl the streets for criminal action. Climb behind the furry wheel of a pick-up truck and it's good ole' hillbilly rock. This game knows how to use music and it shows it big time. »

All Game Guide 80/100

« A brilliant delight, offering gruesome pleasure in a new kind of way. Though it is rooted within the original's origins, it offers up a new dimension of gaming that can be appreciated by those looking for something different. »

Gaming Maxx 76/100

« I hate to use this cliché, but if you liked the first one.... etc. Just be aware that this game falls into the 'controller-throwing' realm of difficulty and frustration. But it also falls into the 'turning it back on 5 minutes later' realm of addictiveness. »

Gaming Age 75/100

« Compared to its special effects pushing brother on the PC, Grand Theft Auto 2 on the PlayStation looks rather tame. »

PSX Nation 73/100

« Those turned off by the awkward controls and odd viewpoint won't like this one either but it's the only game where you can be this bad. Too bad that experience wears tiredly. »

Cheat Code Central Platinum 70/100

« It's disappointing that some of the bloodshed from the first GTA has been toned down in Grand Theft Auto 2. There's no pleasant way to detail this: In the first game, dead policemen, gangsters and pedestrians decomposed. Lying on the pavement, they bled, made a big mess and later disappeared. Granted, the process was a little too quick to be realistic, but there was just something wonderful about revving up your Corvette with its back wheels planted on some poor sap's corpse, then spinning out with a trail of blood matching your tire tracks. Gross? Yes. Sick? Maybe. Fun? Definitely. »

« Worst gta of all time, lack of freedom of making money comparing to gta1 and london, you can make real money by only completing horrible missions in this game. Gta 1 hundred times better as an arcade game than this pos »

F4ll3n_Ech0 7/10

DarkMythHunter 8/10

« GTA 2 (8.0/10) delivers a gritty, fast-paced top-down crime sandbox that still feels surprisingly addictive. Its gang reputation system adds a clever layer of strategy, forcing you to think before causing chaos. While the visuals and controls show their age, the freedom, dark humor, and variety of missions keep things engaging. It lacks the narrative depth of later entries, but its arcade-style gameplay and replayability make it a classic worth revisiting. »

mikeunknown 7/10

« My Review – Grand Theft Auto 2 – 7/10 I gave Grand Theft Auto 2 a 7 out of 10 because, while it builds on the original game’s open-world chaos and freedom, it doesn’t quite feel as groundbreaking as the first one. The top-down view and gameplay are still fun, and it’s enjoyable to cause chaos and complete missions, but the world feels a bit more repetitive, and the missions don’t vary enough to keep things fresh for long. The controls are slightly improved, but it still has that clunky feel compared to modern games, and the story isn’t very engaging. Despite that, there’s still a lot of fun to be had experimenting with the game’s systems and exploring its quirky world. This is why Grand Theft Auto 2 is a 7 out of 10. »

drlowdon 7/10

« The introduction of factions provides an interesting twist even if this sequel does largely tread the same ground as the original. »

sergi07 6/10

« It was a disappointment for me after first Grand Theft Auto. It was nearly the same like first game, but less fun and less playable. »

Drina 4/10

« The game is like an improved version of the first part. I was a little confused by how Claude appears in GTA 2 and 3, but that's not the point. The game is similar to the first part but with a few new additions and that's it. »

Giann96 4/10
