Nintendo Life 80/100

« Within its common-sense (and, thanks to Wii Fit, well-known) limitations, Fitness Boxing is a breezy, energetic success that gets your blood pumping. »

NintendoWorldReport 75/100

« Fitness Boxing is a fine selection of exercises. With a ton of courses to get through, you will be hard pressed to not find a skill level that suits you. As you go along, it is easy to take the next numbered version in a series and deal with the increased difficulty. The controls aren't the most accurate, but easily a cut above Just Dance. That being said, the music is easily my least favorite part of the game. Considering you have to time the moves with the songs, I am very surprised by the music choices. It left me with only a handful of songs I really cared about using, which will be the thing that eventually gets me to move on. Until then though, Fitness Boxing serves its purpose very admirably. »

« Playing Fitness Boxing won't earn you a title match at Caesar's Palace nor will it give you hours of fun with your friends. But it will help you get in shape/stay fit and that's what it was made for. Fitness Boxing is a good fitness app which could have been even better with more precise motion controls. »

« Excellent way to do sport with some cool musics and diversified exercices. Even if the graphics are too simple and the movement detection too much tolerant, the game is interesting and honors the promised concept. »

« Fitness Boxing is a good way of training at home. It’ll make you sweat, and would work as something to complement the gym or for those looking for a more moderate exercise. »

« Fitness Boxing has an admirable goal like Wii Fit before it; to help you get fit. While it isn’t a replacement for full exercising or getting down to the gym, Fitness Boxing will make you sweat to reach your daily goals, and the motion controls demand you make an effort to punch your calories away. The amount of content available is limited, and the amount of songs on offer to box to is a letdown. If you’re looking for a 20-60 minute game workout you can do at home then Fitness Boxing is more than capable, it’s just a shame it’s not more appropriately priced. »

Destructoid 70/100

« Fitness Boxing is a better fit for me and while I may not get the body of my dreams using it, anything is better than what I'm working with now. »

GamingTrend 65/100

« Fitness Boxing doesn’t have a lot of features to speak of, but it does provide a solid workout. Its exercise routines are challenging and enjoyable enough, despite their atrocious background music. Fitness Boxing isn’t going to be the most fun game on your Switch, but it’s worth checking out if you need a little extra motivation to get your heart rate up. »

« I literally bought my switch for this game when it got released.. I loved how it looked and there were lots of garbage positive reviews about it that made me convinced to buy it. After i bought it, tried to work out regularly with it, but eventually dropped for a long time, just to come back many months later and once again get too frustrated with it. And now, March 2024, here is my final review. It's, honestly, very average in every aspect. Music is too intrusive, while being very repetitive, so after some time turned it off. Movements feel somehow awkward, those combos just don't feel like legit boxing combos and the game punishes you for trying to box with rapid and swift motions as it should be, instead making you wait same fixed interval between every hit, and it feels more like a boxing-esque cardio workout about sticking to a particular linear rhythm, which is still fine when you get what this game is about. Waifus are the only aspect i liked. Items you unlock for them feel generic and not interesting, so you stop bothering very fast with dressing them up or even checking items you unlocked, but they are there at least. Each of your waifus is voiced by a different actor/actress in both English and Japanese, so i got what i asked for in that aspect, i guess. And then there is motion capture.... It's abysmal. It just doesn't work, you will fail combo after combo because it doesn't register some motions no matter how hard you try to exaggerate your hits, some motions it doesn't register at all and the only way for you to make the game to see them is to jerk-cheat your moves.. It's literally the only interactive aspect of this game. Your workouts don't feel personalized, there is no real progression, there are no real goals and rewards for achieving them, there is only the score at the end of the session that makes you feel like you are playing it rather than working out with a prerecorded video with exercises. And it just doesn't work. You will also constantly press buttons on your joysticks because they are not being blocked during a workout by the game, making you exit the game, make screenshots, some other crap, while you try to jerk your hands as if you are dancing with a maraca instead of boxing, just for this stupid game to maybe see your hits.. God, it's freaking annoying. And the overall experience of this game is all about this. I force myself to do those boring, generic workouts regularly. But one day, just get too frustrated with this experience and stop it before i break my joystick from annoyance... 0 / 10. »

« Does not register side step, and does not provide workarounds except cheating by shaking joycon which disrupts normal workflow. If this is a normal game software this would be perceived as a major bug. »

« A very good fitness simulator with progress, causing motivation to enter it every day »

« Sooo expensive - probably due to some licencies - yes - music is just terrible! :D And voice acting... :/ Quite good fitness "game" - BUT poor content for me and motion detection very basic. I can buy full version but ONLY after 50% discount ! If the game works for you it's only your merit. You can train hard but game cant even count punches so what about calories etc? P.S. I bought it due to cv - my gym is closed. The game is even worse... But with music off its better than nothing... »

« The games not too bad. Good workout, but could do with a few things improved, hopefully the sequel has these issues worked out. 1. hit detection, it needs work, i miss way too many punches due to the hit not registering. 2. because your not hitting something its easy to over extend or throw poorly pulling your shoulder or elbow, it needs a disclaimer or something suggesting you take care when throwing. Price adjustment too, there is no need for this to be a full priced title, if they had not licensed real music for the backing, it likely would have been cheaper. The games worth the investment for a workout title, but only at a deep discount, and now that number 2 is out, can probably skip this all together now, or get ring fit. »

« Fitness is there, but entertainment? Playing is boring. On the one hand, there is too little music, and on the other hand, the coaching system is too monotonous. Hope the second generation can be improved. »

MediaFreak 3/10

« Nice idea, poor execution. The stretches are a waste of time, detection on the punches it totally hit and miss, the tech simply isn't capable of doing what it needs to do for this sort a game. The instructions aren't great either, the trainer gets her left and right mixed up constantly, there's barely anything about correct form and how much power to put in. It's just an injury waiting to happen. Avoid »

WeRateGames 6/10

« When it comes down to it, Fitness Boxing isn’t a revelation. It takes a simple boxing workout and adds a layer of sparkle. The instructors do their best to motivate as familiar but cheesy music plays throughout but that’s about all it does. It just about does the job but your money would be best invested in the Ring fit. »
