FIFA Soccer 2002: Major League Soccer, développé par EA Canada et publié par Electronic Arts, est un portage sur PlayStation du titre éponyme. Ce jeu de genre sport est sorti le 1er novembre 2001 et intègre la protection Safedisc 2.
La presse a salué la qualité de sa réalisation. GamePro a ainsi décrit « An absolutely gorgeous game, packing in fantastic animations, lavish player models, and stadiums with cool details like flags waving in the stands. » De son côté, GamePen a relevé que « Perhaps most impressive are the stellar animations. I dont want to exaggerate, but the animation is perhaps the best of any sports game currently on the… »
Certains joueurs sexprimant sur Metacritic ont toutefois formulé des critiques, lun regrettant que « Its kinda lame. There arent many gamemodes, and it gets boring after a while. 6/10. » À linverse, un autre joueur a indiqué « Are good game but not as fifa 2001 The game play is much better this time on fifa 2002 », présentant le gameplay comme une amélioration par rapport à lopus précédent.

« This is a really good soccer game but there are some things missing. The graphics are really good but the computer has a really big advantage over you. there are a lot of special moves that are almost impossible to do which the computer will do very easily. Also you can't really see everything you need to be able to pass to your players, there's a lot of different camera angles but none of them are perfect. The computer will see a lot of excellent passes that you won't be able to see. It is a fun game to play with your friends. I'm being a little strict on it because it is a good game to play but those things did bother me when I played it. »
