Alors que vous émergez de votre abri, après d'interminables années, un monde nouveau, et pourtant vaguement familier, vous tend les bras. Un monde rempli de créatures affreuses, mais vide de tout autre être humain, un monde où la nature cruelle a repris ses droits. Un monde sur le point de devenir plus terrifiant encore.
Vous devez trouver un moyen d'échapper à cette île maudite. Mais avant cela, à vous les joies et les déboires de l'apocalypse !

Explorez les ruines d'antan et découvrez les vestiges de l'ère technologique. Procurez-vous un avantage technologique dans votre lutte contre l'environnement hostile ou enfoncez-vous dans les entrailles de ces terres, en quête des connaissances perdues que recèlent les salles secrètes du Caveau des Anciens, et récupérez des matériaux aux propriétés mystiques qui vous permettront de fabriquer des objets extraordinairement puissants.
À condition de disposer des bons outils, 99 % de tout ce que vous trouverez peut être brisé afin de récupérer des matériaux. Donnez-vous-en à cœur joie et mettez la main sur les précieuses richesses de l'ancien monde que sont le plastique, le caoutchouc et les métaux. Heureusement, le nombre de matériaux différents à récupérer est raisonnable. Trouvez des plans et fabriquez des objets et améliorations permanents.
Explorez le vaste monde amoureusement créé à la main et construisez des avant-postes pour étendre votre territoire. Conquérez ces terres région par région, découvrez des trésors cachés, résolvez d'antiques énigmes tombées dans l'oubli, et trouvez un moyen d'échapper à l'île.
D'horribles créatures hantent ce nouveau monde. La plupart des animaux et des anciens habitants de l'île semblent avoir succombé à une influence néfaste, qui les a transformés en créatures féroces et sauvages. Récupérez leur butin, ou leurs organes, en leur offrant le repos éternel. À moins que vous ne décidiez de fuir et de remettre l'affrontement à plus tard, une fois que vous aurez gagné en force. Vous avez accès à toute une variété d'armes de mêlée et à distance, et vous pouvez fabriquer des pièges afin d'y attirer vos proies. Tous les moyens sont bons.
Vous ne lutterez pas simplement pour remplir votre gamelle un jour de plus. La famine N'EST PAS un élément du jeu ! Non, vous ne passerez pas votre temps à traquer le moindre cafard juteux afin de remplir votre insatiable estomac en attendant de sombrer dans l'inéluctable béatitude de la mort. De fait, vous ne mourrez jamais de faim. Au contraire, vous deviendrez de plus en plus puissant et débloquerez des améliorations permanentes. Le monde est dangereux, et vous connaîtrez sans doute quelques revers, mais vous finirez par prospérer.

Modding bug fixes: allowing creating new inventory categories, properly loading mods when Steam initialization is delayed, allowing overriding single pieces of the world with mods, added a scripting function for creating persistent actors. Stability improvements. Minor performance and memory usage improvements with new compressed vertex formats.

The whole point of the game is to run around a huge map breaking stuff with your hammer/machete/whatever to upgrade the tool and be able to break bigger stuff. Upgrading machete with stone and electronics, upgrading hats with metal and wood - it's grinding for the sake of grinding. »

« This is a game with a super interesting concept that is really fun - until it isn't. Dismantle is all about destroying stuff to get upgrades, and the resource loop just works. You'll come across objects you can't destroy with your current tools. When you unlock that new tool you'll get access to a new resource, and from now on every one of those objects you come across in the game world means getting one step closer to your next upgrade. Unfortunately the game gives you access to most resources at around 50% completion, and now you're only ever in need of 1 or 2 materials. And you don't get those from destroying new objects, but rather they are region locked or related to open world activities. Now with one aspect of the core gameplay loop gone you realize how repetitive the gameplay is. This is not to say destroying stuff is all you do, the game also introduces fun concepts such as tower defense minigames, a museum and farming. »

« This game is easy to understand, it's simple fun. I love trying to destroy ****'s a bit like Red Faction Guerrilla which I also enjoyed.I didn't experience any game breaking bugs, but did experience a bugged twin boss. I only saw one of them spawned on top of a railing next to water. One had already spawned on water and immediately drowned. The other was stuck and frozen in place and vibrating, I hit it once with a weapon and it fell in the water and disappeared. So didn't get to fight them, but not a problem.Even though I did enjoy it at first and was obsessed about trying to destroy everything, there's only so much repetition I can take and I did feel sick of it. I spent 30 hours just trying to destroy everything before I started following the main story and upgrading everything and managed to stop being obsessed about destroying everything. The world is way too large and lacks meaningful content. It's hard to know where you are supposed to go as in you find out you need a gas mask to progress but doesn't mention anything about where to go to find one. I was sick of feeling aimless so looked it up online where to get a gas mask, I should not have to do that.I like that the story is a bit mysterious but also dislike that the plot isn't explained properly and the ending is lazy it just goes straight to credits and your game ****'s the kind of game to play that is mindless and if you want to turn your brain off destroy things and just tick everything off on checklists. I mostly like the game and recommend as I enjoyed it and had some fun , I only rate this game 6/10 and not higher as it's a bit too tedious and drawn out. »
« What an AMAZING game with one of the very WORST endgame I’ve ever seen! I don’t mean to spoil it but let’s just give you the « big picture »… You can make your way through the whole game barely building anything at all, yet, they decided that ; to be able to make it through the very last quest, you’d need to almost top your building skills/perks and complete most of the optionnal building quests… So I’m right there, ready to face the very last quest…I tried it but there’s absolutely no way for me to make it without building 3~4 turrets but I can only build 1 and it’s weak… It ****… »
