Dig Dug is a 1-2 player arcade game in which you have to use your shovel to dig your way through the earth. Stopping you from doing this are two monsters, called Pooka and Fygar, who will continually chase you around. The only weapon that you carry is an air pump, which you can use to inflate the monsters to the point where they explode. (if you start to inflate them but stop doing so, the monsters will get turned back to their normal selves). Furthermore, rocks are scattered throughout the earth, and you can use these rocks to squash them. If the monsters do not find you for several seconds, they will eventually get turned into ghosts, which can walk through the earth. They are invincible and cannot be killed. From time to time, vegetables will appear in the center, and you can get these for points.

In Dig Dug, you play as Taizo Hori, a subterranean explorer and tunnel digger. His mission is to clear the underground of Tokyo—or a distant alien planet in some lore—of two newly discovered, invasive monster species: the goggle-wearing Pookas and the fire-breathing green dragons known as Fygars.

Creusez vers le haut, le bas, la droite et la gauche et frayez-vous un chemin à travers la terre.
Faites gonfler et explosez les ennemis avec votre harpon pour les vaincre, ou écrasez-les avec un rocher.
Attirez les ennemis dans un tunnel et écrasez plusieurs d'entre eux en même temps pour gagner un maximum de points.
Venez à bout de tous les ennemis à l'écran pour passer au niveau suivant !
Utilisez un éventail varié de techniques, comme le lâcher de rocher et le "gonflage à retardement", en utilisant seulement 4 directions et une touche ! Revoici le jeu "underground" original qui a fait un carton !
Avec ses superbes graphismes pixélisés, ses couleurs vives, ses musiques rythmées et ses effets sonores caractéristiques, tout le charme repose dans les détails.
Ce tout nouveau portage inclut des options pour régler les paramètres sonores et la scanline, ainsi que la possibilité d'alterner entre les nouvelles et anciennes versions - parfait pour les mineurs infatigables !

Cette évaluation n'engage que moi mais si voulez voir ce à quoi ressemblait les expériences gaming du début de l'histoire des jeux vidéos sur borne d'arcade, foncez. Ce jeu (comme les autres de cette collection) représente pour les joueurs de mon age...
Jeu retro très sympa! Le jeu est parfaitement repris. On retrouve bien la difficulté et le stress des jeux de l'époque!! J'adore.

« 7.2 Amazing arcade game. Teaches a very good lesson to young children not to be fat or else they will explode. This is what happens after the digger finds either the dragon or one of those flying goggles. He throws his bike pump at him and inflates him until they blow. Moral of the story? Is your fat and wear goggle avoid miners and minors. Fistbump? »
