Bomberman, développé et publié par Nice Code Software, est sorti le 28 février 1983 sur Family Computer. Ce clone de Bomberman conçu par le studio se rattache au genre arcade. La durée de parcours de l'histoire principale est estimée à deux heures trente, tandis qu'une approche complétiste demande environ trois heures. La presse a salué la richesse de contenu entre le mode solo et le mode combat, certains joueurs évoquant avec nostalgie les combats de boss, le multijoueur et la musique, tout en relevant que le jeu reste simple à prendre en main en famille malgré sa répétitivité.
