Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

n-Revolution Magazine UK 65/100

« This is so sugary it'll make you puke...unless you're a ten-year-old girl, and then it's brilliant. [Issue#17, p.92] »

Nintendo Gamer 60/100

« No longevity here, but it'll prove bewitching to anyone whose idea of fun is cooing over big-nosed dog photographs on a screen the size of a hamster. [Jan 2008, p.55] »

IGN 50/100

« The cute animals are a starting point, but they're not worthwhile just by themselves. »

GameZone 50/100

« While Animal Paradise’s biggest downfall is a lacking camera mechanic of any kind, other minor issues definitely plagued the game as well. The mini-games were repetitive and melancholy more than they were enjoyable. »

My Gamer 50/100

« In all honesty, this game is kind of misleading and has a great loss of potential. »

NintendoWorldReport 30/100

« All in all, the only thing Animal Paradise has going for it is that it contains amusing animals and various cute Hanadeka photos. It misses the boat on potentially being a fun Pokemon Snap clone, and instead settles for being a vastly inferior Nintendogs clone. »

Worth Playing 30/100

« As I mentioned earlier, Animal Paradise is geared toward younger kids, but this title will only keep them occupied for a couple of hours at most because even kids are going to see through the paper-thin amount of content in this game. »

« Animal Paradise is cute, but it doesn't make for compelling gameplay. I think it is worth noting that the game is taking more of a virtual pet gameplay style as opposed to anything really engaging. The majority of gameplay seems to be playing with the animals or caring for them in some way to gain their affection. After doing so you unlock some mini games as well as the ability to capture their photos to save to an album. As a grown adult... Not really my cup of tea. If I were a child I could probably garner some enjoyment out of this, since it does remind me of the Nintendogs series minus some gameplay features. Some frustrating parts of the gameplay is a clear lack **** to reach while taking care of the animals. For example, you can pet or give them a bath but it's not made clear if you can just keep doing this, or if you have to do it for a certain amount of time. With washing, it seemed like there was little indication as to whether I was doing it right. petting they gave a little frustrated signal if I pet them wrong. It isn't clear if it's because I'm petting the incorrect spot, or if I'm doing it too tough, or anything. I don't know. There just seems to be very little to gauge the little playtime you do spend, which doesn't really allow me to optimize while playing... but perhaps the point is just to relax and enjoy the game. That being said, although the graphics are pretty good for the DS especially with how early it released, the gameplay is a bit too simple and boring to enjoy. But it isn't to say a child couldn't get a kick out of it. »
