Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

Gaming Illustrated 86/100

« For what used to be my favorite arcade game of all time, this is a wonderful new edition that stays true to the original. The graphics have been wonderfully redone, and the sounds still sound great. »

TeamXbox 75/100

« For its time, Yie Ar Kung-Fu was the hottest game in town and played like it too, other than its control issues. The Xbox Live enhancements to Konami’s original ROM once again make this classic coin op title worth its cheapy asking price, especially to those who respect the family tree of video gaming. »

Xbox World 360 Magazine UK 60/100

« "Way of the Exploding Fist," it ain't. [Oct 2007, p.96] »

X-ONE Magazine UK 60/100

« Something about playing Yie Ar Kung Fu makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. [Issue#24, p.101] »

GameSpot 55/100

« It's a relic from arcade's past that probably won't appeal to new players, but outside of being able to say "Hey, I remember liking this game back in the day," old arcade buffs probably won't get $5 out of it either. »

IGN 40/100

« Yie Ar Kung-Fu is a game lost to time. It's outdated and no longer enjoyable. It's worth a few quarters in an arcade cabinet, but not worth $5 on Xbox Live Marketplace. »

Eurogamer 20/100

« With literally hundreds of better classic games out there to choose from, it's absolutely mystifying that something that's aged as badly as Yie Ar Kung-Fu can be held aloft as some sort of period piece worth re-investigating. »

Official Xbox Magazine 20/100

« No paint job can obscure the fact that connecting blows don't register more than half the time... Worse, basic movement is neither consistent nor natural. [Sept 2007, p.76] »
