The Nightmares at The Krusty Krab est un jeu de tir à la première personne de survie horreur amateur, sorti le 19 janvier 2019 sur Xbox One. Le joueur y incarne SpongeBob, qui doit affronter des vagues d'ennemis et trouver une issue au sein d'une version cauchemardesque du Krusty Krab. Du côté des retours, certains joueurs se sont montrés enthousiastes, saluant sur Metacritic un titre « amazing » et « incredibly fun and random », qu'ils jugent supérieur à Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated.

« An actually pretty nice game. Thought the story is nonexistant and the game-play outright inconsistent, the hilarity is where the fun of the game comes from. The references and visual gags pay homage to the older episodes of the Spongebob Squarepants anime and even plays the op1, which is usually regarded as the best op from the S-S anime series.
