Sorti le 19 mars 2007 sur Xbox 360, Tetris Evolution est un jeu de réflexion et de puzzle développé par Mass Media Inc et édité par THQ. Le titre propose l'expérience traditionnelle de Tetris tout en y adjoignant de nouveaux modes de jeu, notamment « Go Low » et « Eraser », accessibles aussi bien en solo qu'en multijoueur. Ce dernier autorise des parties jusqu'à quatre joueurs sur une même console, mais aussi en ligne via le service Xbox Live.
Côté réception, l'accueil critique s'avère mitigé, reflété par une note agrégée de 49,72. Le magazine Official Xbox Magazine résume l'expérience en la qualifiant du « même Tetris que vous avez toujours aimé. Seulement... plus chargé ». Cheat Code Central recommande l'achat pour les amateurs de batailles multijoueurs en ligne, tout en étant plus réservé sur l'intérêt du jeu en solo hors ligne. Du côté des joueurs, les avis divergent : l'un souligne une bande-son de qualité et une personnalisation correcte, tout en jugeant les contrôles perfectibles mais tolérables ; un autre exprime sa déception, estimant que le jeu se limite à du Tetris sans plus, là où il en attendait davantage.

« Definitely get this game if you love Tetris and want to embark in the world of online multiplayer battles. If you just plan to play it offline by yourself or with friends, then the look of it is the only reason to get the game, as it's a bit more polished than the older "Tetris Worlds" and it supports high definition, in addition to the fact that you can select different avatars and themes that weren't there in previous versions. »
