Temirana: The Lucky Princess and the Tragic Knights
Temirana: The Lucky Princess and the Tragic Knights

« It is an excellent sign when the range of negative points of a game are so few that they are of an almost insignificant nature. Temirana: The Lucky Princess and the Tragic Knights meets that criteria. The issues discovered are minor, and the strength of narrative and difference in each romance route are genius and plentiful, making it a top-class addition to the visual novel library on Nintendo Switch. A minority might be put off by how long each romance route takes, but for VN fans the longer the better! A sequel would be very well received too, such is the desire for more adventures from the not-so-cursed royal lady. »
« While it can be repetitive and the art style is a little generic, Temirana: The Lucky Princess and the Tragic Knights shines when it comes to world-building and the distinct storylines through each route of gameplay. »
« I love the main cast of characters and many of their allies, with every new scene featuring a particular character making me want to know them just a little more. The fact that the routes themselves skew more towards heartwarming, non-problematic stories is also a nice touch. Temirana: The Lucky Princess and the Tragic Knights is a sentimental romantasy VN I can easily recommend to fans of the genre! »
« Temirana: The Lucky Princess and the Tragic Knights ended up being a fantastic otome game that blended romantic comedy with drama. The cast is wonderful. The story it tells is captivating. It avoids the traps of falling into archetypes. There are all the quality of life features we expect from a visual novel. It’s a sound game, and I even think people who aren’t into otomes may enjoy it. »
« Temirana: The Lucky Princess and the Tragic Knights is exactly what I was looking for in terms of a modern otome game. It’s a fantasy tale that has depth, and while the love aspect can get a little lost in the political plotline, it finds its way back and gives you an overall satisfying story. The characters are great both individually and together, and there is a good mix of seriousness, comedy, and banter. It was just enjoyable to watch them all interact, making it a title I feel comfortable recommending to others. The visuals do leave a little to be desired, and the gameplay is nothing crazy, but this is a solid game for fans of the genre. You will find what you’re looking for here, I promise. »
« Temirana might not be up with my very favourite visual novels, but it is entertaining, with good and warm energy behind it. It’s not the ideal entry point to otome as it doesn’t really have a hook beyond “exactly the kind of game otome fans like to see,” but if you are a convert, you’ll find yourself chuckling along with the way it plays within the genre traditions right throughout. »
« Temirana: The Lucky Princess and the Tragic Knights mixes courtly politics and class tension with otome romance. Its slow-burn relationships and outsider perspectives provide the kingdom with a lived-in feel, that help make this visual novel moving. »
« Temirana: The Lucky Princess and the Tragic Knights is a great entry point to the genre of Otome. It includes a simple premise and a basic dynamic that works well in the game’s favor. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Interesting otome game but a bit too PG with the romance, however it's all very cute and innocent like a Fairy tail. I liked the love interests but none were captivating enough to make it to my best boy list. The game is extremely long with a lot of text. Cecilia herself is pretty cool as a queen, felt very much like Cinderella with the two mean older sisters and mum dynamic. It was overall very average as far as otome games go, also tame and beginner friendly for those who don't like extreme bad ends and yandere or crazy love interests. A safe bet for those wanting to dip their toe into otome games that is story heavy rather than romance heavy. »
« Temirana is a standout 2026 otome that perfectly blends political intrigue with a heartwarming "found family" dynamic. Playing as a proactive princess who recruits a band of "unlucky" knights feels refreshing, and the unique world-building—where your birth month defines your destiny—is genuinely immersive. THE PROS : STANDOUT PROTAGONIST: Cecilia is smart and assertive, driving the plot forward. TOP-TIER CAST: The chemistry between the knights is charming and emotionally resonant. VIBRANT VISUALS: Excellent sprite animations and dynamic lighting bring the world to life. THE CONS: POLISH ISSUES: Noticeable typos in the localization can break immersion. PACING: A very long common route makes multiple playthroughs feel repetitive. THE FINAL VERDICT: Despite some technical rough edges, this is a great game and will excite fans of slow-burn romance and deep fantasy lore. It’s a high-quality, high-stakes journey that is worth your time. »
