Superman: Countdown to Apokolips
Description (IGDB)
Lois Lane has been kidnapped, and only the Man of Steel can save her! Agents from the lava-scarred planet Apokolips have come to Metropolis to humiliate Superman before the entire world, right in his own hometown. Enlisting the aid of local mob kingpin Bruno Mannheim, leader of the notorious Intergang, wicked emissary Kanto supplies the gang with out-of-this-world weaponry possessing the power to bring down Superman. While Superman is busy bringing the thugs of Intergang to justice, the beastlike Kalibak seizes the opportunity to abduct Lois and spirit her away to a remote, clandestine location. In the meantime, bad bundle of energy Livewire has busted out of Strykers Island Prison, and she is out for vengeance against the man who put her there--Superman. There is no rest for the Last Son of Krypton as the Countdown to Apokolips begins!

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« Despite the decent visuals, the repetitive action drags this one down. Thankfully the game can be completed in about two hours. [Summer 2003, p.49] »
« The character movement is much less restrictive than the movement in most isometric-view games. [May 2003, p.140] »
« Simply a mediocre action game with not a whole lot of things to do. »
« The game ultimately fails because of its repetitive level design and a control system that’s more irritating than fun. »
« Instead of a Superhero game this one is more of a go here and punch this guy, repeat and move on. Not even die-hard fans like Vaughn would have many nice things to say of this version. »

« You should have just made the game like the legacy of goku because this game is very old i waiting to see superman with his own game »
« The game is good but it need to be more like the legacy of goku you can make a new superman game like dragon ball z kakarot »
« A mediocre game with pleasant and colorful graphics but with repetitive and challenging gameplay that may reduce the value of the game to some extent. »
« Wacky fighting system, horrendous music that makes you throw yourself to the nearest window and bad graphics does not save the "man of steel" put in shame a beloved fantasy icon. »
« This game should probably be called "Superman: Punch People A Lot" since you can only get to the final boss if you earn three S shields on every level, and you can only earn three S shields if you don't use heat vision. Which is to say, it's a Superman game that doesn't let you be Superman. Also, it's boring and ugly and the music isn't very good. »
