Sonic Boom
Description (IGDB)
Sonic Boom was the first Klik & Play Sonic fan game to hit the internet. It was created by Martin Braid in 1995. The initial release had a virus, so it was taken down temporarily. It was re-released in 1996 by Magnus Andersson. Due to the open-sourced nature of Klik and Play, Sonic Boom later re-appeared in saxman's Sonic Klik & Play Collection along with demos of Sonic PC and Tails and the Quest of 100 Rings. It was also re-released as Rotor Boom by Ian Klukan, the Archie character Rotor Walrus replacing Sonic.

« Interesting, funny and clever. Not the best Sonic game ever made, but it's definitely better than the Sonic Boom's Wii U version. If you need blue speed this year, this is your game. »
« Shattered Crystal isn't your typical Sonic game... Instead, it's a competent maze-based platform game that you'll probably enjoy. »
« If you're a Sonic fan or you enjoy platformers, you can do an awful lot worse, and this may be one to grab should the opportunity or a bargain price arise. »
« It is fun whilst it lasts and is definitely deserving of a play through. This is Sonic, just not quite as he was previously known. »
« Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal is bogged down by slow and repetitive exploration, but there are moments of great, fast platforming that call back to Sonic’s heyday. »
« As a Sonic game there's nothing positive here, but as a game, in general, it is a reasonable options for kids, particularly if they're fans of the TV series. »
« At its core Sanzaru Games delivers a classic jump&run. But clumsy controls and a considerably slower pace than you’re used to from other Sonic adventures make it a tedious platformer. »
« Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal is not that bad. Not as bad as the Wii U version anyway... But it's not really brilliant either. To be honest, the game from Sanzaru is rather well-realised and easy and precise to handle. But it becomes boring quickly: the four characters and the three kinds of levels available can't hide a real lack of good ideas. »

« It’s actually kinda fun? Definitely too slow for a Sonic game, but I wouldn’t call it bad, it’s pretty competent in what it’s doing. »
« I played the **** DEMO of this when the 3DS eShop was still a thing, and the main levels were so long it made me wish I were playing a better game (like a good Sonic game for that matter). For the time it would take me to beat a world on the full version I bet you I could probably beat Sonic Generations 3DS once. I was told too that the full version was worse than this because of its backtracking and lack of overall direction in terms of gameplay in every manner among numerous other issues. Put simply, BORING!!! I'd rather play the rest of both Sonic 06 and Sonic Forces, and then sit through The Knuckles Show again over this. »
« This is the best 2D game yet for all ages! Its this game is not existing to be hated! They are trying their best and I appreciate it! 100/100 »
« Nostalgia aside, I think the game is good, but not the best of Sonic games. But one thing for sure, It's way better than the Wii U port. (a.k.a "Rise of Lyrics") 71/100 »
« The game takes alot to finish, and you always need to collect more crystals to get to another level, the bosses are ok, but the game itself not that good. »
« The level design is very good. The races are mass. The robotic earthworm phases brought a cool variation on gameplay. And changing characters was cool. But the game has lost some of its essence by making you explore the map and not focus on running faster and faster and not dying in the process. The Tails workshop is also cool. Now, to be rejecting the stages to catch useless collectibles and can advance the story is awesome. The game has 34 medals and you need to get 30 to face the Boss final. It is one of the Sonic that has more focus on the story (which I liked), only that I found it ultra mediocre, but nobody plays Sonic for the story. Good but rare Cutscenes and the dialogue between phases are cute, and the cool thing about it is that they add a little depth to the characters. It's a different type of Sonic and it's definitely not bad. You just have to play it open minded and focus on having fun. »
« A Big Mess Nowhere near as awful as Rise Of Lyric, But **** Crystal is still bad. »
« What can i say it is just like sonic boom on the wii u but 2% better and that is a bad thing! Wait it is the same but with no bug or gitchs! This game is boring as heck »
