Quake
Quake, développé par id Software, est sorti le 22 juin 1996. Ce jeu de tir à la première personne est le premier opus de la série du même nom. Le joueur y incarne le Ranger, un protagoniste envoyé à travers un portail pour arrêter une entité connue sous le nom de Quake, qui a compromis un système de téléportation expérimental, le Slipgate, en l'utilisant pour envahir la dimension humaine. Le joueur évolue dans des environnements médiévaux en forme de labyrinthe, combattant des monstres avec un large éventail d'armes.
La version améliorée du jeu, Quake (Enhanced), offre des graphismes mis à jour avec un support 4K, des modèles retravaillés et des lumières dynamiques, ainsi que la bande originale de Trent Reznor. Elle inclut les extensions d'origine et de nouvelles créations de MachineGames, comme Dimension of the Machine. Un mode Horde et des fonctionnalités multijoueur, dont le cross-play, viennent enrichir l'expérience.

« Oh. My. God.Quake... You're everything people say about you. The game's presentation is so good it's legit overwhelming. The art style, the colour design language, the sound design, the animation, all makes for an incredibly creepy video game. That is on top of the lightning fast FPS combat gameplay that keeps you on the edge of your seat at all time. Not a single second passed when i feel safe while playing this game. The level design and the enemy placement--just about everything about the fighting sequences makes me think the developers wants me dead.Genuinely my favourite shooter game of all time. This is coming from a guy who played Doom 1993, Ultrakill, and Amid Evil if that says anything. Boomer shooters are awesome. Easy 10/10 for ID software's magnum opus of their classic era. »
