Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game, développé et édité par Sega Games, est un jeu de sport sorti le 24 juillet 2019. Il est disponible sur PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S et Google Stadia.
Le jeu propose 18 épreuves sportives, comme le tennis, le football, le 100 mètres, le basketball et la boxe. Il se veut un jeu multijoueur accessible, où les joueurs peuvent créer un avatar, personnaliser ses compétences et choisir des costumes originaux, tels que pirate ou astronaute. L’objectif est de battre des records et de viser l’or dans les classements mondiaux.
L’accueil critique est partagé. La presse a salué un jeu amusant en apparence avec une profondeur sous-jacente, comme le souligne Press Start Australia, tandis que Gaming Age note que toutes les épreuves ne se valent pas mais que l’expérience reste divertissante. Du côté des joueurs, les avis sont plus mitigés, certains déplorant un manque d’immersion, à l’image d’un commentaire Steam le qualifiant de « niveau 0 de l’immersion. À fuir. »
Le jeu fonctionne avec le moteur Hedgehog Engine 2. Sa durée de vie est d’environ 4 heures et demie pour l’histoire principale et de 11 heures et demie pour les complétionnistes. Les scores agrégés sont de 68 sur OpenCritic et de 69,16 de moyenne.

« Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game is a 18 game mini-game collection featuring several sports featured in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Games. From Football to Rugby, BMX to Boxing, and Running to Swimming, there's a good variety of games. This however isn't a usual budget release with no core or effort, it's actually quite the opposite. SEGA opted to flesh the idea of an official video game based on the Olympics, with challenges against challenge athletes, customization with tons of options of clothing to wear, and more. It also includes multiplayer, with both online and co-op available. Presentation is actually very solid, with very clean, official looking UI and Menu designs to help provide a level of quality you might take for granted. SEGA has made four traditional Olympic Video Games, with Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010, London 2012 and Tokyo 2020, and I'd safely say Tokyo 2020 is the best attempt of this avenue so far. I'd recommend the game to anyone interested if you can find it for a discount. Overall, it's pretty good! »
