Moe Era, développé et publié par Comfy Company, est sorti le 4 février 2020 sur PC, Mac et Linux. Ce visual novel indépendant réalisé avec le moteur Ren'Py plonge le joueur dans une ère de personnages mignons, où il incarne le héros attendu par quatre jeunes filles, Sima, Nana, Marta et Teya, au sein d'une histoire non linéaire proposant plusieurs fins et un petit casting secondaire charmant. Le jeu, qui mêle blagues et références à un récit présenté comme profond et stimulant, affiche une note agrégée de 69,03 et se parcourt en environ trois heures pour l'histoire principale et quatre heures pour une partie complétionniste. Certains joueurs regrettent une expérience globalement décevante malgré des passages appréciés, tandis que d'autres saluent notamment les succès Steam du titre.

« There were parts of Moe Era I enjoyed but the best way I can sum up my play through was underwhelming. There is a lot of dialogue where it doesn’t have much to do with the main story or even have any impact. There are also a lot of bits that don’t get fully explained. For instance every day you wake up in a new country and no one explains why. Every day you have a weird dream but it is never explained why. I did enjoy the characters and liked the story progression with them. I also enjoyed the references, especially about Dorsia. The art was good and the interface was unique although I didn’t like how any time you brought the mouse cursor over to the left it expanded the menu blocking some of the screen. I played Moe Era on Linux. It never crashed on me and I didn’t notice any spelling errors. You can manually save whenever you want and there are 18 save slots. Alt-Tab didn’t work. What was there was decent to good but it had too much that nothing was done with. Even with it being free it is hard to recommend it. I finished my first play through in 96 minutes. « Да, в игре очевидно есть пропаганда. Её подача, её присутствие раздражает, лучше бы этого не было в игре. Но в целом новелла очень даже неплоха. Девочки милые, особенно Марта. Работа художника восхищает. Романтические отношения, диалоги написаны очень неплохо. Несмотря на проблемы, вся игра— это неплохо, даже хорошо. »
« Really well made "dating" sim. Don't go into the game thinking there's some epic horror twist like a certain other story, it's just a really fun, small visual novel that's about... things. Honestly, a very surreal experience to say the least. Marta best girl by the way. »
