Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

PC PowerPlay 100/100

« This is about as good as an indie game can get. Treat yourself. [June 2011, p.60] »

Eurogamer 100/100

« Minecraft is a towering achievement in the very possibilities of gaming, and it does this without losing itself to either esoterica or cynicism. It is a game anyone can play and anyone can get something out of, no matter how skilled or imaginative they are. They will make something and they will have an experience that feels like theirs and theirs alone. »

1UP 100/100

« Meanwhile, Minecraft, with all its flaws and quirks, has already joined Super Mario Brothers, Wolfenstein 3D, and Tetris in the pantheon of games that prototyped an entire genre. »

GamePro 100/100

« Admittedly, critiquing Minecraft's ready-made dungeons and NPC villages is a bit like complaining about the beans served alongside an immaculate five-star steak. Sure, the side-servings might be mediocre, but at its core Minecraft is one of the most forward-thinking games ever created. It spits in the face of the conventional games industry, and it's raked in millions of dollars while doing so »

GameSpy 100/100

« Minecraft is what you make of it, and that makes it pretty damn special. »

Telegraph 100/100

« Minecraft is by far one of the most fascinating and progressive games ever made, both in terms of its leanings towards procedural generation and emergent gameplay, and the way it has been so openly developed. In an era where the development of most games is a closely-guarded, PR-managed secret, millions were invited to buy and play Minecraft years before it was even finished. »

Eurogamer Germany 100/100

« Games like Skyrim or GTA love talk about open worlds, but it seems, that so far only Minecraft has truly embraced this principle. (…) This here is your story, that you simultaneously write and experience. All at your own pace. »

Cheat Code Central 96/100

« Minecraft is so much more than a game by now; it's a potentially generation-defining phenomenon. »

NGYT 10/10

« This game is highly regarded as one of the most influential games of all time, and for good reason. It offers endless content and replayability, only enhanced with the usage of mods. My only issue with this game is the switch to the new “drop” system. While the drops do mean that we get content at a quicker pace, the drops also often feel light on actual content. For example, with the recent sulfur cube drop, I felt like I was waiting for the major part of the drop to be announced, only to realize that there was no more hidden content, and ultimately feel underwhelmed by the size of the update. While this can be solved with mods, I still wish the base game had more substantial updates again. Despite this, however, Minecraft still remains an unparalleled gaming experience. »

ADrawingMaster 10/10

« One of the Best Games of All Times, and one of the best selling games of all time as well, I love the gameplay, game mechanics are fantastic and the enemies, animals and villagers are all amazing and stunning as well, the pixelated animated fits really well into the game as well, especially the clouds and the sky, I love the sound effects and that gorgeous music, it's very heartwarming and soothing as well, and I love how you can travel to other biomes and dimensions like the nether and the end, and I love how there is a story at the end when you finish defeating the ender dragon, but overall, "Minecraft" is one of the greatest, Awesome, and one of the best games that has been ever made. »

« Minecraft is more than just a game; it is where I started my gaming journey, and it will always have a special place in my heart. Even after all these years, I still play it regularly, and I believe it will never get old. The endless possibilities of building, exploring, and surviving make every session feel unique. Whether I am building massive structures or just wandering through its vast world, the sense of freedom is unmatched. It is a timeless masterpiece that constantly evolves, and no matter how many other games I play, I will always come back to Minecraft. »
