Inazuma Eleven 2: Firestorm
Inazuma Eleven 2: Firestorm est sorti le 1er octobre 2009 sur Nintendo DS. Développé par LEVEL-5 et édité conjointement par Nintendo et LEVEL-5, ce titre constitue la suite directe de Inazuma Eleven, série ayant débuté la même année sur la même plateforme. Mêlant les genres sport et jeu de rôle (RPG), le jeu raconte la suite des aventures de Mark Evans, un adolescent gardien de but et capitaine de son équipe, peu après les événements du premier opus.
À la suite de la victoire de l'équipe des Raimon Eleven dans un tournoi de football, l'école des protagonistes est soudainement attaquée par des aliens mystérieux. Mark et ses coéquipiers doivent alors voyager à travers tout le Japon pour recruter les joueurs de football les plus forts, dans l'objectif de vaincre les envahisseurs lors d'un match avant que ceux-ci ne détruisent le monde.
Le jeu a reçu une note agrégée de 70,74. Plusieurs critiques ont salué l'expérience : Gameblog.fr a ainsi écrit « Even though it doesn't push a lot further its concept than the original, Inazuma Eleven 2 still is a very nice RPG with a cool soccer-based fantasy universe an… », tandis qu'Eurogamer Spain a qualifié le titre de « A nice and unexpected goal for a handheld living the end of its cycle. » Des joueurs sur Metacritic ont également exprimé leur satisfaction, l'un déclarant « Great JRPG combined with soccer! This game has a very interesting story, good multiplayer and great postgame. Goated game!!! », et un autre affirmant « Es un gran juego. Altamente recomendado para mi y para todo el mundo que lo a jugado es una de los mejores RPG de la DS ».
