Hey Poor Player 100/100

« I could probably write a dissertation on everything Haven does right, but the truth is, Haven is something you must feel. Your relationship with Haven will change over time, the nuances left on you only realized long after the controller has been put away. Haven is the game every game developer wishes they could make and every gamer wishes they could play for the first time every time. It cannot be understated how beautiful Haven is in every sense of the word. Please don’t just play Haven — feel Haven. »

KeenGamer 92/100

« Haven is a delightful character-driven action-RPG that absolutely deserves your attention. From the graphical style to the soundtrack, to the excellent writing and voice acting and the myriad interconnected systems at play, the game is polished, charming and just the right amount of challenge. If you habitually mash the ‘skip cutscene’ button then this perhaps isn’t for you, but if you want to lose yourself in a great story with wonderfully realised characters, don’t hesitate to pick this up. »

GameWatcher 90/100

« Haven exudes an amount of confidence that’s not often seen. Every piece falls into its place and there is never a moment to suggest that developer The Game Bakers had any doubts about the direction in which it wanted to take the game. Its satisfying exploration of interconnected levels, light survival, story-driven visual novel elements, and rhythmic combat all serve the greater experience. It boasts some of the most organic writing we’ve seen in a while and strong protagonists with excellent chemistry. Kay and Yu embody weakness and strength, childlike wonder and maturity, and kick ass together when the need arises. It’s hard to dislike them. Regardless if you’re in it just for its story or want to see everything it has to offer, Haven always finds a way to reward you and never wastes your time. »

Noisy Pixel 85/100

« Haven took me by complete surprise with its relatable characters and emotional love story. Gliding from island to island is endlessly fun and is a great way to take in its bright art direction. While there are some performance issues, the overall story and exploration had me hooked from beginning to end. If you’re looking for a romantic and fantastic narrative Haven has a beautiful world ready to explore. »

The Games Machine 82/100

« Haven is a great comfort game. Relaxing music, pleasant color palette, dialogues that are often light but never empty. Yu and Kay’s adventure on source never fails to be entertaining, and if the combat seems a bit shallow at first, it will certainly put you to the test as you progress. Some things could be better, of course; but after the excellent Furi, Haven is another proof of The Game Bakers’ competence. »

IGN 80/100

« Haven is a charming and unusual sci-fi RPG about love prevailing above all else, although between its thrilling gravity boot rides and respectable combat are long spans of monotonous resource gathering and clean-up. »

GameSpew 80/100

« Haven is a unique title; more than likely, you’ll never have played anything quite like it. Exploring the world is lovely and relaxing, though making progress can feel frustratingly slow in the game’s early hours. Once the story really gets started though, it’s impossible to walk away. Players will love getting to know Yu and Kay and slowly uncovering the story of how they ended up together in their dangerous predicament. Haven is slow-paced, but it’s beautiful and captivating. If you want something to enjoy while tucked under a warm blanket, this might just be the comfort you need. »

Hardcore Gamer 80/100

« Even with iffy combat, Haven ends up being a dose of pure joy, letting you experience a well-written whirlwind romance with lovable characters, or just letting you hover around a planet at fast speeds, enjoying satisfying gameplay as you swiftly gather up more Flow or escape corrupted creatures. Top it all off with sweet visuals and one of the year’s best soundtracks, and you have a unique blend of adventure and RPG games that provides a terrific experience. Indeed, you’ll more than likely fall in love with it. »

Blastinatr 9/10

« The best part of this game is the great dynamic between the 2 loving leads along with a story and lore that is surprisingly emotional and gripping. Yu and Kay's dialogue is fun, realistic, and genuine thanks to wonderful voice acting and scenarios. The addition of conversations between the 2 regarding daily life or spicy moments is very different from other games, and as a result you become much more connected to Yu and Kay. This brightness is contrasted by a somewhat dark background to the game's setting and a few anxiety inducing moments that have you staring at the screen in worry which respectively keep the game grounded and engage you further by feeding you some salt in between the sweetness. In the background is a phenomenal soundtrack (composed by Danger) that accentuates the emotional moments of the game while also helping you get lost whilst gliding through Haven's various islands. The playable setting of the game is bland at times since there isn't too much to find on each island other than resources, but it's made up for with smooth movement that consists of Yu and Kay swiftly gliding across the land. Along the way you'll find "flow threads" which are energized trails that can take you into the sky and help you reach areas that are otherwise impossible to get to. This DOES get a little bit frustrating because sometimes, finding the right flow thread to get to a certain place can feel impossible and waste a lot of time. This, combined with a lack **** map can make it so that players miss certain connections to other islands or be unable to fully explore one. The combat is quite simple and consists of semi-real time battles where you charge up 2 different types of attacks and have to manage attacking and blocking to make sure you don't get overtaken. It can be a little tedious sometimes (and unbalanced) but it has interesting ideas that might work better in Haven's co-op mode. Even though I do have some criticisms of Haven, the game managed to connect me with its cast in a way no other piece of media has done. It's the kind of game that can leave you with a pained chest when you finally finish it (as it did for me). Because of that, along with a great story and resonant soundtrack, Haven is one of my favorite games of all time. It's not perfect, and while it's a 9/10 here, it's a 11/10 in my heart. »

« I CAN WRITE A BOOK ABOUT THIS GAME THATS HOW MUCH I ENJOYED! I loved everything this game offered at me. i was deeply depressed when i started playing this game a great relationship that i had crumbled slowly while all i could to do was watch and this made me feel like i have lost the one the soul mate of mine but NO the game showed me that what i lost was mundane and toxic. Ever since i played this game i am looking for a FLOW state in relationships if you my dear reader going through dating scene of our modern day you'll realize that maybe nine out of ten relationships are forced, not in literal sense but they don't flow they don't get along matter of fact they are not even trying, being with someone is not the point of having a relationship point is being with someone you flow with someone that uplifts you adds to quality of your life and this game made me realize all this and did this not by forcing me to see the ideal relationship or something no. NO game gave me enough time to think through things after every cutscene every little interaction with surrounding world. Not made for everyone out there i accept and embrace that if you enjoy this game you'll ENJOY this game. »

« This should have been a great game with such an interesting premise. However, it falls flat on many levels. Clunky controls, lacklustre graphics and presentation and well as boring characters. The voices are ok as is some of the music. All in all, the gameplay just isn't interesting enough and neither is the story. »

« 新增LGBTQ+的人物設定後更好玩,是一個很適合看別人戀愛的小品遊戲,飛行操作稍微複雜,有3D暈的人要小心,除此之外,做做料理、看看人物放閃,加上好聽的背景音樂,是一款很有趣的小品遊戲 »
