Fru
Fru, développé par Through Games et édité par Microsoft, est un jeu de réflexion et de plateforme paru le 13 juillet 2016 sur Xbox One. Le titre se distingue par une utilisation innovante du Kinect, la silhouette du joueur faisant office de portail entre deux mondes. En positionnant stratégiquement son corps, le joueur résout des énigmes qui marient interaction physique et plateforme traditionnelle. Le jeu se compose de quatre chapitres aux approches variées autour de ce concept, invitant à nager dans sa propre silhouette, adopter des poses pour déclencher des mécanismes ou avancer sur la pointe des pieds pour esquiver les dangers.
Concernant son accueil, la presse a salué cette proposition atypique. Le site Destructoid a ainsi déclaré : « If you have a Kinect, you owe it to yourself to buy FRU. » Le média ICXM a qualifié l'expérience de phénoménale tout en relevant que « While Fru might not be as long as you would like, it’s still a phenomenal experience which every Kinect owner should purchase. » Des joueurs sur Metacritic ont également partagé leur enthousiasme, certains estimant qu'il s'agit du « best concept for a Kinect game i ever seen, simply funny and different. Nice work. » et d'autres confiant qu'ils détestent normalement les jeux Kinect mais trouvent Fru « very enjoyable », le qualifiant de « surprise hit » et « Incredibly unique and fun ». « Pretty much own and/or have played every 360 and Xbox One Kinect game as my achievement list can attest to. This is coming from someone that COMPLETED "Rise Of Nightmares" and owns "NBA Baller Beats"(basically Just Dance with a basketball... seriously). FRU is easily in the top 3 of all Kinect games in terms of originality, innovativeness and pure fun - next to The Gunslinger and the original Dance Central. My only gripe is the length. You literally want to keep playing - it's just that much fun. If you get any game for the Kinect, you owe it to yourself to play this one. »
