Digitally Downloaded 90/100

« Billion Road isn't perfect. The interface makes it difficult to track some of the finer points of detail, particularly around property ownership, and a lack of minigames and other events of excitement mean there's a draining level of downtime in the game where you're just waiting for your next turn to roll around. However, for the board game enthusiast this is a true Japanese experience. Under the bright colours and ridiculous wealth being thrown around (you'll be worth billions in just an hour) lies something that has clearly been created by people who love the unique micro-cultures with Japan, and the sheer delight that you have in simply travelling across the country. »

NintendoWorldReport 75/100

« Even with a handful of mild problems, Billion Road is a fun local multiplayer board game on Switch. The most notable potential drawback is that it is at its best when you have two-to-four players that are all down for some whimsical yet strategic tabletop nonsense. If you have a few friends at home or nearby to play Billion Road with, dive into the Japan-themed board game mayhem. »

Noisy Pixel 60/100

« Billion Road has a lot of potential to be a great party game. While it can be fun in short bursts, it quickly becomes dull due to a lack of variety. »

Nintendo Life 50/100

« Billion Road makes an intriguing pitch: to combine Monopoly and Pokémon into a family-friendly digital board game. With its bright presentation, varied mechanics, and endless barrage of distractions and rewards, it could be perfect for young families looking for some wholesome couch time. However, there's a critical lack of strategic substance underpinning it all, while the presence of a virtual guiding hand tilting the odds robs the game of the emotional extremes that the true classics manage to evoke. »

« Adorable and wacky game that certainly had me caught in the cycle of "just one more round". The lack of mini-games might make it drag for some players, but I appreciate not having to pay too close attention and just waiting on my turn. I feel like it's trying to keep it simple, so buying property doesn't have the same immediate weight that it would in Monopoly, especially since it doesn't create an obstacle for other players. In some ways, that makes the game feel less cutthroat than Mario Party. That being said, if you've been dancing around the goal for several turns and someone nails it from halfway across Japan you may never forgive them. »

« A lots of fun so far , really like the theme and music on that game. Fun to play and can use multiple strategy to win , the price a bit high maybe wait till its in special. Only negative aspect , local play only , if the game get more popular its could be nice to add the multiplayer because the game is really cool and i think the price will be fair if multiplayer is added in a futur. Keep the good work, i hope multiplayer will arrive :) »

« Excellent game, more exciting than fortune street, best played in free play mode without computers. I would strongly recommend buying this game, it has cute and detailed graphics, game runs very smooth, no issues at all. I am basing this review off of 12 hours of gameplay. I am a big fan of video board games, I own every mario party game and fortune street for the wii, and I would say that this is my favorite of them all, with fortune street in second, I would like to see an English port of fortune street ps4 on the switch, but until then, this is certainly the best video board game on switch. »
