Description (IGDB)

Besieger is a real-time strategy game where it is up to the player to find Thor's hammer and set things straight again as the vikings, fight as the Cimmerians or play as the returning Korin in three different single player campaigns.

Histoire (IGDB)

When Korin, rightful king of the Cimmerians sets on a quest to find a fabled magic sword, his sister Mara sees her chance and seizes power with her dark magic. Vikings that live nearby hear of this and fear an attack. Therefore they send out some warriors on a quest to find Thor's hammer. They set out on a flying ship, only to be shot down and see Mara's forces destroy their capital.

Avis des critiques et joueurs

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

GameShark 80/100

« Where the game shines is in its siege warfare tactics and deformable terrain. These elements add enough flavor to the gameplay that fans will find the game an enjoyable romp both online and offline. »

VideoGamesLife 73/100

« A competent example of a seriously tiring game structure, which leaps from mediocrity with a reasonable twist to the mechanics. It doesn’t feel bad, and you’ll never hate it for being what it is, it’s just that WarCraft is so much better, and a decent story line or an iota of imagination on the behalf of the developer could have raised the bar that important fraction higher. »

AceGamez 70/100

« If you can forgive the AI and path-finding issues and overlook the slightly decrepit graphics and lack of imagination in the story, then there is some fun to be found in Besieger. »

GamerFeed 70/100

« The heroes are interesting, the story entertaining, and the battles get adrenaline pumping. »

Game Chronicles 67/100

« A valiant attempt to try something new, and while it succeeds on a few levels, it fails on just as many. »

GameZone 65/100

« Besieger won’t offer you anything new, simply covering old ground that has been done better before. With insipid AI and pretty average gameplay, Besieger doesn’t really stand out against the current crop of RTS games. »

IGN 65/100

« The game's built-in zerg rush prevention is refreshing and invites strategic creativity, but the pathfinding (and the formation-breaking aggression) bring it right back down to earth. There are so many other places to go for your RTS jones that it's difficult to look past the aggravations. »

Game Over Online 64/100

« A real-time strategy game that doesn’t offer anything new, and that doesn’t work particularly well, either. It often looks nice (although its claim of having "photorealistic landscapes" is a joke), but so what if it’s boring and broken? »
