A live event for the 30th anniversary of Another World on December 11, 2021!
The association MO5.COM and The Digital Lounge are honored to invite you to an exceptional live event on Saturday, December 11th at 6pm CET on the Twitch channel of MO5 in order to celebrate together the 30th anniversary of Another World (1991). To talk about this classic game that never ceases to inspire gamers and creators, we will of course be accompanied by its author, Eric Chahi, who was awarded the National Order of Merit in early May, and its composer and high school friend Jean-François Freitas. The live event will be hosted by our friend and journalist Patrick Hellio with the complicity of the association's president and vice-president, Philippe Dubois and David Soumet, and the founder of Digital Lounge, Abrial Da Costa, who takes care to preserve and perpetuate the memory of this great game. Many guests are also invited to this celebration, such as Romain Tisserand, co-founder of Dotemu at the origin of the re-release of the classic on mobiles, Paul Cuisset, who notably worked with Eric on Future Wars (1989), and Jacques Harbonn, journalist and reviewer of the very first version of Another World in French Tilt Magazine. Come and ask your questions live and some surprises will be waiting for you too... https://www.twitch.tv/assomo5 {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/4542205/21205592b6af5a65234abdb3e590d198a23f42fa.jpg
Developers and industry legends on the games that defined the last 20 years
As Eurogamer turns 20, we thought, you know what? It's not all about us. It's also about the developers, the people behind the virtual magic that inspired the creation of Eurogamer two decades ago. Without the developers, we wouldn't be here. And so, we thought we'd ask a few of them (20, in fact!) to pick the games that defined the last 20 years, and see what would come of it.We approached a broad range of people, from top executives and legendary talent to tiny indies. We asked them to pick a game that defined the last 20 years, but left it up to them to interpret the question. It could be a game that defined the industry, that meant a lot to them professionally or personally, or is just a favourite. We're delighted with the responses (thank you to everyone who contributed!). There's some fantastic insight here, super cool anecdotes and the odd surprising choice. We hope you enjoy it!Read more
