Imagineer
Imagineer Co., Ltd. was established on January 27, 1986 (registered on June 1, 1977) in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, with the goal of developing, manufacturing and selling game software. They acquired the rights to release overseas games in Japan, such as SimCity which they published for PC. They have also worked with companies like Sanrio Co., Ltd. on games featuring popular characters such as Hello Kitty. Imagineer developed the Super Nintendo Entertainment System version of Populous, having acquired the rights from Les Edgar. At the time, the company was working with Nintendo. Imagineer also publishes the Medabots game series. In 2016, Imagineer fully absorbed their video game subsidiary company, Rocket Company, merging into one company.
SNK Playmore
Eikichi Kawasaki, SNK's founder, established another company, Playmore Corporation on August 1, 2001, just two months before the original SNK's closure due to bankruptcy in October 30, 2001, to ensure that the company's properties would have an entity that can recover those. On July 2003, Playmore rebranded as SNK Playmore Corporation, seeking to reclaim its original identity. Playmore's resemblance to the original SNK led to a return to the original company name on December 1, 2016.

PROTOTYPE
PROTOTYPE is a Japanese software company founded by Toshio Tabeta, a former producer of Interchannel. While still with Interchannel, Tabeta's team was responsible for mainly developing and publishing versions of visual novels originally published by Visual Arts for consumer platforms like the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable. After Prototype split off from Interchannel, the company still continued to work with Visual Arts. Prototype is also involved in producing mobile phone ports through VisualArt's Motto which Prototype manages. Prototype has also produced a set of drama CDs based on Key's visual novel Clannad.

Gust is a video game developer and a brand of Koei Tecmo Games. They are best known for developing Atelier games. Gust was established on October 1, 1993 by Keiken Systems as an independent company meant to develop PC games, then entered the PlayStation home console market in 1994. The company was acquired by Koei Tecmo Holdings in 2011, merged with Koei Tecmo Games in 2014, then shifted to a brand organization system in 2016, which is now known as the "Gust" brand name.
